INCOMING STUDENTS (GOING INTO PRE-ALGEBRA)
Any new pre-algebra student will have to create a Khan Academy account. Please create your login and password like the example listed above. Next, please have your child work on the following content areas to get started.
1) Negative Numbers: addition and subtraction (7th grade) - www.khanacademy.org/math/cc-seventh-grade-math/cc-7th-negative-numbers-add-and-subtract
2) Negative Numbers: multiplication and division (7th grade) - www.khanacademy.org/math/cc-seventh-grade-math/cc-7th-negative-numbers-multiply-and-divide
3) Fractions, Decimals, & Percents (7th grade) - www.khanacademy.org/math/cc-seventh-grade-math/cc-7th-fractions-decimals
4) Order of Operations (algebra-basics) - see link www.khanacademy.org/math/algebra-basics/basic-alg-foundations/alg-basics-order-of-operations/e/order_of_operations
If your child finishes the above areas over the summer, I would have them work through all of the content areas listed below. It will be extremely beneficial for any incoming student to go through all of the 7th grade material, then 8th grade, and if they still have time please have them complete all of the lessons in algebra basics. If they can complete the algebra basics by the end of the summer, it will really help prepare those students for my pre-algebra class.

OUTGOING STUDENTS (GOING INTO ALGEBRA 1)
It would be a good idea for any outgoing student (going into algebra 1 next year) to review all of the algebra basics material, then pre-algebra, and if they still have time please have them begin the algebra 1 lessons.
